Life has been moving roughly a million miles an hour and I knew it had been a while since I’d written a blog post, but I had no idea it had been 9 months! Wow!
To get things up to current, after 5 years of life in New York City, Jay and I decided to make a move up to Boston. It wasn’t particularly planned and we basically landed here by happenstance, but it seems as though it was the right decision.
In late August, I saw a job posting at a company in Boston where I had a connection. I reached out casually about it, and before I knew it, I was completing a phone interview and an in person was being discussed. We were heading to the Cape for vacation the following week, so I agreed to interview then since we’d be a short drive to Boston. I thought the interview went well, but I figured that it was more practice than anything since I didn’t imagine they want to relocate anyone for the job. Well, low and behold, the recruiter called later in the week and invited me back for a second interview. I was shocked and still didn’t think they’d actually hire me. The second interview happened and a few days after that I got a call from the CFO offering me the job. It was a great opportunity for me so I took it. We fully relocated to Boston about a month later.
The move has been a relatively big change for us. We left a lot of friends and our beloved Nike NYC running community. Luckily, there’s a Nike Run Club here too and Jay actually got a job with them that he loves. So the move has meant new and better jobs for each of us and new friends, so we’re happy. So that’s why I haven’t touched this blog in so long. Now we’re settled in though, so I’ll be back at it. More to come!
